How do you guys spot hidden problems when buying a used car?

I’m curious how experienced buyers here check a used car before purchasing. Sometimes a car looks great in photos and even during a quick inspection, but problems appear later.

What are the small things you personally check that most buyers miss?

For example, when browsing listings like cars for sale japan, some deals look almost too good to be true. Do you usually rely on a mechanic, or do you have your own checklist?

Would love to hear what methods have worked for you.
